Derek Sankey began selling real estate in Southeastern Massachusetts and Northern Rhode Island in 1999. He quickly grew his career by helping friends and family buy and sell their homes. Derek then moved into investment properties, commercial and all aspects of residential sales including rentals with great success. In 2002 he opened Sankey Real Estate which he now oversees the day to day operation of the company along with his continued dedication to helping sellers and buyers with all of their real estate needs. He has reputation of being a closer, very straightforward, honest, fair, hard working and diligent.
Derek expanded his knowledge in 2005 when he started working REO’s, Foreclosures, Short Sales and HUD properties. This experience has provided him with the ability to negotiate through some of the most difficult sales. He ran a 5 agent elite team that oversaw multiple properties at once. This required strong communication and management skills to coordinate all of the tasks required with REO’s. Local sellers and buyers have now utilized his knowledge to assist them in selling and buying their properties.
Derek also invests in real estate properties to flip and hold. The types of properties he’s invested in are single family, multifamily and vacation properties. He owns multiple properties now with his invest group throughout New England. The properties he’s owned have been in New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Massachusetts giving him further experience to pass along to his customers and clients.
Derek grew up in the North Attleboro and Mansfield. He graduated from North Attleboro High School in 1988. He has lived in the area his whole life which has been an asset to his real estate career for knowing the area well. When not selling real estate, he enjoys spending time with his wife Kerri and his four children. He also enjoys time in their Maine home and the outdoors. Golf, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling and cars are of other interest to Derek.
